Make Money with Affiliate Marketing – Using Analytics to Make More Money

It’s important that as an affiliate marketer you utilize every possibility to make more money from your efforts. By implementing analytics on your website, you’ll have the data you need to test, track conversions, make changes and make more money with affiliate marketing.

There are several good analytic programs available that you can install on your website or blog. One of those is Google Analytics, which is free and easy to install on your site. Google Analytics provides a wealth of information about the visitors on your blog, including the keywords they searched to find it, the length of time they’re on your blog and reading your blog posts, the blog posts that receive the most traffic, etc.

This is all very useful information that we can use to adjust specific blog posts and our blog as a whole to attract more traffic, keep that traffic on our blog longer, and make more money in the process.

Most web hosting companies provide stats for your website or blog, but most of these programs don’t show you everything. More often than not there’s a good deal of information you’re not being made aware of.

I strongly suggest installing a good analytics program on your blog. To install and start using Google Analytics, simply go to http://www.google.com/analytics and sign up for a free account. From there you’ll be provided with instructions on how to install the script on your blog and set everything up.

Once you start receiving data about your blog traffic, you can then tart tweaking things a bit. First look to see what blog posts are receiving the most traffic. Are you monetizing those posts? If not, you probably should be. What keywords are bringing people to those posts? Knowing this will allow you to change the title and content of the posts if need be to attract even more targeted traffic. Then, find a good way to monetize them and test different strategies.

Another useful tidbit you can learn about your visitors is how long they’re on your site. If people land on your blog homepage and quickly click off of it, meaning that their time on your site is very small, then you should make some changes.

Start testing and making changes to your blog as a whole to keep your visitors on your blog as long as possible. Test layout, content, and design to start. Do you use annoying pop-ups? Maybe try disabling them to see if people will stay longer.

The important thing here is that you want your blog to be as friendly as possible and attract and keep a good readership. Using analytics will help you in the process and allow you to make changes to make more money with affiliate marketing.
