Make Money With Affiliate Marketing – Using Social Media to Promote Your Products and Services

How much time do you spend on Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, etc.? How much time on those sites is actually worthwhile? I’ll bet it’s safe to say that a lot of wasted time is spent playing games, taking quizzes and just socializing on these sites.
Do you realize that your time could be better spent promoting affiliate products and making money? Yes, these sites can be used to make money with affiliate marketing.
The key with anything you do when promoting affiliate products is to brand yourself. So, the key to making these sites work for you is branding yourself as an expert in your field. Facebook, Twitter and Myspace all allow you to post updates to your account. Use this to your advantage to promote the products you recommend, but don’t abuse it.
Build friends and a following that will be interested in what you have to talk about. This is how you will convert your status updates into sales. Also make use of other key features like your profile page and “about me” section. Use these as a “sales page” about you or your business.
On Facebook, you can setup your own personal Fan Page. This can be used to drive traffic to your site and build your list. Invite your friends to become a fan, and tell them to do the same.
And, going back to your friends, you first have to build them up. Take it slow as these sites limit the amount of friends you can add in a day. Add too many and you can be seen as a spammer and have your account deleted. You don’t want this to happen if you’ve spent a lot of time on your profile and other features
Making money with affiliate marketing via social sites is a real fact and something you can start doing starting today. Get signed up, be social and make money online!

Make Money With Affiliate Marketing – Videos as a Promotional and Lead-Generation Tool

In my previous post, I went over the fundamentals of using video to promote affiliate products. If you haven’t read that post yet, I recommend you do so because this post will build on it.
We covered the two basic types of videos and what they can be used for. This post is going to go more in-depth on how to use video as a promotion and lead-generation tool.
Whether you’re creating a tutorial style video or a more direct, ‘in your face’ video, both are very effective in getting your message across. The purpose of your video and the end result you’re aiming for will determine which type of video you want to use.
When promoting an application or any type of software, it’s best to create a tutorial type video. In this way, you can actually show a live demonstration using the application, allowing your viewers to see it in action for themselves. You can point out all the features and explain what each one does. Be sure to cover the benefits of those features and why it’s going to be useful to your viewers.
In the same way, if you’re promoting a website or a specific web page, you can show the page or site and briefly cover what people will find on it. You don’t have to go in great depth here, but make sure you state why going there will benefit your viewers.
Now, if you’re looking to build your list or get people into your affiliate program downline, the same tips apply. Video can be used to entice people to check out your affiliate link and sign up to learn more about your affiliate program, or you can simply send them to your own newsletter sign-up page.
The possibilities really are endless. Get creative with your video marketing to make money with affiliate marketing. It really does work and is the new media of choice for most marketers.
Make Money With Affiliate Marketing – Using Video To Promote Affiliate Products

If you’ve been online for any amount of time, you’ll have no doubt seen videos while surfing the internet. Videos aren’t new and have been around for a while, but they’re becoming increasingly popular among affiliate marketers, and for very good reason. Video sells. Traditional sales copy still sells as well, but video has a very unique attribute about it that appeals more to consumers than just plain text.
If you really want to make money with affiliate marketing, then you should seriously consider adding videos into your marketing mix. Here some tips on promoting an affiliate product using video.
The advantage of video is that you can showcase how something works in real-time. For instance, if you’re promoting a cool new software application that will make internet marketer’s lives so much easier in finding profitable niches, use video to demonstrate just exactly how it will do that.
For this type of video you’ll need screen capture software to record your computer screen while you’re using the software. CamStudio will do the trick and is free. If you want something more professional there’s Camtasia which is just great. Either way, tutorials and live demonstration videos work wonders in helping promote a product as an affiliate.
Then, there’s the other type of videos where you sit in front of the camera and talk. This can also have a lot of impact as people can now put a face to the words. These types of videos are more personal, and if you provide useful information and don’t sound salesy, you can build trust among your viewers.
For this type of video you can use just a basic digital camera or web cam if you want. Or, if you would prefer something a little higher quality you can purchase an inexpensive digital camcorder. Whichever one you choose, you’ll be making a very wise investment in your affiliate marketing business. And, you can even write it off as a business expense during tax time.
You now have the fundamentals for using video to promote your affiliate products. My next post will go more in-depth of how to make money with affiliate programs using various video marketing techniques.

Make Money With Affiliate Marketing – Building an Email List of Subscribers

One effective way to make money with affiliate marketing is to build a list of subscribers. Ever hear the saying, “The money is in the list?” Well, it’s very true for any type of business you’re in. It doesn’t matter what you’re selling or promoting, if you can build a list of interested and responsive subscribers, you’ll have no trouble making money online.
So, how do you go about building an email list of subscribers?
The first thing you’ll need is an incentive. People generally want something of value before they’ll just hand over their name and email address. If you can provide something of value, like a free report, free software or just useful information about a particular topic that deals within your niche, this will increase the likelihood of getting people to sign up.
Once you have your incentive, you’ll need a landing page (squeeze page) which will be used to capture your visitor’s name and email addresses. For more information about landing pages, check out a recent article on Creating a Winning Landing Page. Basically, you want to briefly describe what your incentive is and make it clear that all they have to do in order to get your incentive is to provide their name and email address. You’ll need an opt-in form to make this work, which is provided by your autoresponder service or software, whichever you’re using.
Once the form is filled out, your visitor’s should receive an automatic message with download instructions for their free report, etc. You should also have a series of emails already created that will be sent out periodically.
The important thing here is that you build and nurture your subscribers. Provide them with valuable information and keep them interested. Build a relationship with them, and let them know the real you. Be personal and upfront with them, and most importantly, be honest.
Doing these things will ensure that you build a healthy and responsive email list that will trust you and your recommendations and allow you to make money with affiliate marketing promoting other people’s products. This is a surefire way to make money online.

Make Money With Affiliate Marketing – Building Backlinks To Make Money Online
February 9, 2010 by Alan
My previous post was about Getting Exposure to Your Review Blog Posts, and I covered briefly about search engine optimization (SEO) and backlinks. In this post, I want to cover backlinks in more depth and provide you with the proper way to use and get them.
Just to recap, backlinks are links on other websites that link back to your website. Hence the reason they’re called backlinks. Backlinks are essential for driving your website up in search engine results. You want your website at the top of the results page whenever someone types in a specific keyword phrase. The higher your website ranks, the more traffic it will get, and the more sales you will generate.
So, let’s start with the proper use of backlinks. Backlinks are the most effective when they contain keywords. What keywords should backlinks contain? Backlinks that you’re building should contain the keywords/keyword phrase of the web page that it’s linking to. For example, if your web page’s keyword phrase is “best golf clubs” without quotes, then your backlinks should contain that keyword phrase exactly. The term used for this is called anchor text, so all backlinks you build should contain the anchor text for the pages you’re building links for.
I hope that makes sense to you. A great example of this would be the link I have at the beginning of this post. The link is a phrase, which links to my previous blog post. This is the exact same thing you want to do when creating your backlinks.
Moving on, I now want to cover the best way to get backlinks. Backlinks should be built slowly, around 5 – 10 a day. You would even be safe in building 50 in a day to the same web page, but don’t overdue it. Gradual and steady is the key. If you build a huge amount of backlinks within too short of a time, Google will get suspicious and think that you’re spamming, and this is definitely not a good thing.
Some different ways to go about building backlinks include article marketing, blog commenting, forum posting, writing guest blog posts, reciprocal linking with other related sites, social bookmarking, video marketing, etc. There are numerous ways to build quality backlinks, and remember you want to do it slowly over time.

Make Money With Affiliate Marketing – Getting Exposure to Your Review Blog Posts
February 7, 2010 by Alan
In my previous article about promoting affiliate products using your blog, I explained that writing review posts featuring affiliate products was a good way to promote those products. But, the simple act of writing those posts won’t make sales. You need to get exposure to those blog posts.
So, how do you get people to see your review blog posts?
Some very basic marketing comes into play here, but the first thing you need to do is do some keyword research. For starters, go here: https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal and type in a relative search term used to describe the product you’re promoting. For example, if you’re promoting a weight loss program, you might want to type in “weight loss” without quotes.
From there you’ll be provided with various search terms people use that contain the term weight loss in them. You want to find a keyword phrase that gets a moderate amount of traffic. Around 1,000 should be just fine. The more searches a month, the more competition that phrase will have, so keep that in mind.
Once you find a keyword phrase, you want to use it in the title of your blog post and sparingly throughout the post. This will optimize your post for that keyword phrase. You’re not done yet, though. Now it’s time to build backlinks to the post.
Backlinks are simply links on other sites pointing back to your site. The more backlinks you build to your website or particular web page within your site, the higher it will rank in search engines. But, it’s important that when building backlinks you use the keyword phrase for that page.
So, in this example, if your keyword phrase was “weight loss made easy,” you want to build backlinks that contain that exact phrase. Doing so will drive your blog post higher up in the search engines for that phrase and will bring targeted traffic to the post and eventually sales.

Make Money With Affiliate Marketing – Promoting Affiliate Products Using A Blog
February 7, 2010 by Alan
Filed under Affiliate Marketing, How To Make Money Online, Making Money from Your Web Site
In order to make money with affiliate marketing, you have to actively promote affiliate products. You won’t make any money if the products you want to sell don’t get seen by potential buyers. This holds true for any type of business, and affiliate marketing is no different.
So, how do you go about promoting affiliate products to generate sales?
There are many different ways to market affiliate programs, but if you have a website, that’s where you should start. For example, if your website is “work from home” related, you may have various products you’re promoting geared towards the work from home niche. All you would have to do is put links or banners up on your website linking to those products.
However, a more effective method to promoting affiliate products is to blog about them. If your website is a blog, or you have a blog installed on your website (I recommend Wordpress), then you’re already set for this. If you don’t have a blog, I would encourage you to install one as it can be a very powerful marketing tool.
In order to make this work, your goal should be to provide an informative review style blog post. You want to be subjective and provide the benefits of the product, but at the same time you don’t want to sound like you’re trying to pitch to your readers. Stay neutral and provide both positive and negative attributes.
Your readers will be able to notice if you’re trying to sell to them, and that shouldn’t be the focus of the review. You want to provide them with enough information to make a sound decision on whether or not they need the product. That’s it. Of course, provide your affiliate link within the post.
Be sure to add a “call to action” that encourages them to click through to the product sales page. They will happily do so assuming you gave them the information they were looking for without being biased about the product you’re writing the review about.
As a leaving tip, it’s always better if you actually use the product you’re writing a review about. This allows your review to be more personal and honest, and your readers will trust you more because you’re talking from firsthand experience.

Make Money With Affiliate Marketing – Finding Products To Promote

As an affiliate, your number one priority is to make money with affiliate marketing, or at least should be. Afterall, you probably got into the business to eventually earn enough money to quit your day job, or maybe you just wanted some extra cash to afford those extra luxuries. Whatever the case, you need to find products to promote that will help you earn that money.
So, how do you go about finding products to sell? And, more importantly, products that people will want to buy?
There are a few well-known sites that provide affiliates access to thousands of digital products that you can promote. The best part about these sites is that signing up as an affiliate is free, and there’s no limit to how much money you can make.
The first site I recommend is Clickbank. Clickbank is the internet’s largest digital product provider. With thousands of different products, you’re bound to find the product that fits your niche. The nice thing about Clickbank is that they provide stats for the various products. Within those stats is what they call “gravity.” The higher the gravity, the more popular it is. This will help you find products that people are buying.
Another recommended site is PayDotCom. The products available are very high quality, due to the stringent requirements put on product owners. This is good news for you as an affiliate as you’ll be promoting high quality products from well respected marketers and product owners.
Last, but certainly not least, is CJ.com. Also known as Commission Junction, CJ.com is another well known affiliate product site where you can sign up as an affiliate for free and start promoting products.
Now you have three different sources that will help you to make money with affiliate marketing. To find more sources, just search for “niche products affiliate program” into any search engine. Replace “niche” with whatever niche you’re in.
